To Save a Sinner (Audible Audio Edition) Adele Clee Stevie Zimmerman Books
I hate leaving bad reviews. This book was so disappointing. The dialogue drifted into the modern way too much. The h was repeatedly told by her mother and sister that she wasn't attractive enough to catch a husband, but obviously they were blind, as Lucas is immediately smitten. She's an innocent but acts Like a strumpet. The book was merely a vehicle in which to string one sex scene into another. With a bit more of that it would easily classify as erotica. I love kissing, but got thoroughly SICK of it here. Even with a murderer one minute away, instead of getting prepared, these two are kissing, tonguing panting, and forgetting themselves when she was supposed to be pretending to be half dead. I kept reading but wishing the book would end. I'm sorry to be so blunt. She "saved the sinner" by becoming a sinner with him? A better title might have been Seduced by a Wood Nymph, lol. Again, sorry.Product details

To Save a Sinner (Audible Audio Edition) Adele Clee Stevie Zimmerman Books Reviews
Definitely an adult book. Good story line but I found the deliberate flaunting of mores of the time by a supposedly intelligent young lady a bit hard to believe.
The plot is interesting as are the characters. There are several plot twists but each one is plausible and adds to the story. The disappointing part was the missing conclusion prior to the epilogue. The story stopped abruptly and jumped to the epilogue, leaving many unanswered questions.
This book is currently on the kindle free list and after reading a few reviews I decided," why not?" I think the major problem some may find with this read is the pre marital sex. It is slightly descriptive without being overly done and the h, Helena, has no inhibitions. It was troublesome that the two never thought about a possible child being conceived but for me that became over shadowed by the love I found in the couple.
Lucas had never met a woman like Helena she is has no filter. Her questions are without reserve and anything goes. It is Helena herself that I loved. She is a strong, intelligent woman. The short side of what this book is about is Helena overhearing a conversation that proves that Lucas is not the murderer everyone believes him to be. Most the women of the ton only admire his looks, wealth but Helena sets a new precidence. The best part of the book is when Lucas's ex mistress Lady Colebrook and a Mr. Huntley-Fisher( who wants Helena for himself) try to break the two up. Helena and Lucas are betrothed at this point and the mischievous pair arrange a scene where Helena will catch Lucas with Lady Colebrook together. Helena doesn't even flinch before saying," I take it you have finished explaining to Lady Colebrook that you are not the sort of man who plays with the bones once he has finished with his meal."
It made my day and it's not the only scene where the two stand up for the other or give into the petty games others try to play. I really enjoyed the couple and while there is an element that gives it a modern vibe I still would read it again. Enjoy!
The blurb sounded good and the author's style is not off putting. However, I quit reading at 25%, so tired of reading about how horny the H is and his descriptive sexual fantasizing about her when she's standing in front of him. Well placed lust and sex is all good and fine. It all felt so rushed. Others will like it just fine so this review is geared toward those like me who get want a story not overwhelmed by detailed sex.
Free kindle read for now.
It is a historical novel that I rated 4 out of 5 stars. It involves a hero that fled England and moved to Boston after being accused of killing a man in a duel. He is called back after his father's demise. He starts off with a mistress but upon meeting heroine is instantly connected to her but he doesn't realize it. He is loyal from the get go, so mistress had to go. The story had suspense as we go along for the ride in figuring out who killed the man the hero is accused of killing. Also, we get to see the love grow between the hero and heroine. Hero is also loyal and defends heroine countless times. He also has an ex that tries to make trouble, but heroine pretty level headed. Love scenes were moderate to hot in steam. I gave it a 4 because hero kept doubting heroine's love. Drove me crazy, but in the end true love finds a way. Good read for free.
I took a chance on this book as I had never read anything by this author, and was happy I did. The hero (Lucas) in this story has lived in exile in America for the past 4 years because he and even his family believe he killed a man after hitting him. He has just returned to England, and meets Helena (the heroine) at a ball. Helena is an attractive young woman, but lives in the shadow of her sister's beauty and selfishness. At this ball, Helena overheard 2 men talking about the man Lucas supposedly killed, and learns that not only that these men may have framed Lucas --- but they are determined to kill him also.
In addition to this mystery to be solved, there is the growing Romance between our hero and heroine. Helena is quick-witted, and is determined not only to help save Lucas' life, but also to identify the 2 men she heard plotting in the garden so that Lucas' name can be cleared and the true culprits brought to justice.
There is a deliciously written scene where a former mistress of Lucas partners with another gentleman to try to trick Helena into thinking that she has stumbled onto an assignation between the jealous former mistress and Lucas. There is a stunningly good reaction by Helena, and the verbal sparring between the former mistress and Helena is wickedly good.
I enjoyed this book as much as other books by more seasoned HR authors.
It should also be noted that Ms. Clee not only introduces the main characters for the next book, but also sets the stage for her next novel in this book.
