This book offers my recommendations on how you can achieve gains in golf clubhead speed, no matter what your age, playing ability or athleticism. It begins with an identification of what I consider the most harmful instruction that will hurt your progress, followed by some instruction that I found helpful in realizing these gains.

I will then go into an actual plan you can use to make similar gains. I will reveal some advice on getting rid of the chipping and putting yips, both of which have afflicted me over the last few years.

Included is a section on how to "time" your swing so that you retain essential “lag” in your swing and eliminate many fat or thin iron shots.

I will then give some advice on eliminating "over the top" swings, perhaps the most common swing flaw and some observations about balance.

Finally, I have included advice on what to think about during the actual execution of your actual golf swing.

Bought the kindle version of the book over a year ago, and did not really "understand" the program or technique. After going through a bout of short hitting, I got fed up and decided to find a way to increase my speed. Coincidentally, I began following a gentleman on YouTube under MySwingEvolution who was doing a video blog on his journey to increase his long drive. His 30 day results were impressive. The blog mentioned "Tom Slagle's" method...which rang a bell. I then remembered that I bought Mr. Slagle's book over a year ago!

This time, everything was crystal clear - having the videos as a reference was a huge help. I am in the midst of my thirty day program now, but after working out using the light shaft, and the swing radar, I am already beginning to see dramatic improvement. My 100mph average has jumped to about 108 after just two workouts. The guy from MySwingEvolution clocked at 131 at the end of 30 days. My golf buddies are already giving me a hard time...cannot wait to get more workouts in.

Only one caution. (In my opinion) Do not start this program if you do not have a reasonably consistent technique for applying the clubhead to the ball. This program is about building speed, and not teaching the fundamentals of golf. I could see a novice player getting really goofed up trying this if they have not locked in the feeling of balance, the relationship of the clubhead to their hands, etc. For those that play regularly, but "hit short" - this book is the truth!

Good stuff. Will increase your clubhead speed. Even if you are a small person. I highly recommend this ebook. And cheap.
It was a quick read for me (under 30 min)...10% for the content was actually on the subject and the rest was about swing theory that I didn't believe in....for a book that's under $4..I can't complain..
Too soon to judge the effects of the instruction written . Check with me a month from now, I'm hopeful at this point as mr Slagle and I are about the same height.
I liked this book because it is written from the perspective of someone who has been where I am and has figured out a way to get to where I want to be! This is not a "one size fits all" but more of an "inspirational" book in that it tells you flat out with common sense that there is a better way to get more distance than we have been "taught" and you are "free" to go ahead and work on getting it. This book is a great place to START if you are looking for more distance in your game.
The only thing I think this book is lacking is an emphasis on flexibility and hip strength that is TRULY needed if you are going to approach tour like distance. These guys (even the "out of shape ones") have worked and stretched the muscles needed to make a fast/good golf swing for years. You cannot jump off the couch and expect to equal them - no matter what you think or try. You will need to put time and effort into this to make it happen. But start with this book!
In simple words ,Thomas SLAGLE shows you how to disregard most accepted (And wrong) principles to increase your clubhead speed and gives you the drills to acheive at least 10% of increase of your clubhead speed (As measured by a swing speed radar ).
He explains how the speed increases when you start your downswing the quickest possible from the top of the backswing ,and not trying to delay the release ,as is usually taught (wrongly) by the best golf teachers .There is also a useful recommendation on the need to push powerfully ,by several inches (6), your left hip forward before rotating it to the left this is obvious to all long hitters because they understand they should move forward to acheive speed .He emphasizes that the speed is generated mostly by the arms and not by the hip rotation ,as fast as it may be many golf teachers state the hips are the main power generator of speed ,an opinion which Mr SLAGLE contests ,in my opinion rightly ,just look at the long drive champions ,and how they train they build up primarily the strength of the arms
Good idea. If writer can add more exact plan for his game plan, it will be more useful.
Something like what he did on first day, second day,and result for each day ....
IMHO, most what is said in this short book is good approached to increasing distance. The part in the book about the lateral move to the front foot (weight shift) is very subtle but very important move is grossly overlooked. If you turning (rotating) without moving to the left side you will have problems. This move is not talked about as much and is misunderstood by many. I feel it is almost like turning off the left foot but your upper body (mainly head) is still slightly behind the ball. Before you approach the speed part make sure you have that move.

A speed radar is an important tool to get feedback. I do a lot dry swings with a speed radar to get feedback. Also like Tom mentioned recovery is important so, "get some rest" and do some stretching.

I bet if you ran into Tom at the driving range he probably could explain 90% what in the book by talking to you for about 30 minutes. So this book is for the rest of us.
